Shishito Peppers Recipe

Shishito peppers are small green peppers that are popular in Japan . They are sweet-hot, not-too-spicy and thin-skinned. These peppers can be pan-fried or grilled. You can find shishito peppers at a Japanese grocer or farmer's market.
Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients
- Olive oil (about an inch up from the pan bottom)
- 1 lb. shishito peppers
Directions:
- Heat the olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet until it is hot.
- Add the peppers and cook them over high heat, tossing and turning them frequently.
- Fry them until the pepper skins look golden. It takes about 5 minutes.
- Take the peppers out and drain them on a paper towel. Place them into a bowl and serve them hot.
