Penne with Dry Tomatoes


It should take less than 15 minutes to prepare delicious low sodium pasta with this recipe.

Yield: 2 servings


  • 1 lb. penne (or any type of pasta you like)
  • 1/2 lb. uncooked baby shrimps
  • 12 dry tomatoes
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup of parsley as garnish (optional)


  1. Wash dry tomatoes, cut them in two pieces and set them aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a medium-size pan and add shrimps. Cook until shrimps turn pink for about 2 minutes. Add dry tomatoes and stir them for 2 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, black pepper and paprika (or cayenne pepper) and stir them for a minute. Add white wine. Stir the final mixture (sauce) for 10 minutes.
  4. Cook penne (or any kind of pasta you like) al dente for 10-12 minutes. Serve the sauce on the top of the pasta and garnish it with parsley, if you like.
