Brigadeiro Recipe

Brigadeiro Recipe

Brigaderio is a very sweet cocoa candy made with condensed milk in Brazil. Here we provide a very easy recipe of this dessert.

Yield: 2 servings

  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
  • Choose one or more of the following to cover cocoa balls: walnuts, chocolate sprinkles, almonds, or coconut

  1. Combine butter, condensed milk and cocoa in a medium-size saucepan. Start on medium heat and lower it to low heat. Stir and cook the mixture until it thickens (about 10-15 minutes). When the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the pan it is thick enough! Stir continuously during this time.
  2. Pour the mixture in a lightly greased plate (spray the plate with cooking spray) and let it cool to room temperature (until the mixture is cool enough to handle).
  3. Grease your hands with butter or spray them with cooking oil. Take small amounts of the mixture in your hands and form it into 1 1/2 inch balls.
  4. Roll the balls over your choice of walnuts, cocoa, chocolate sprinkles, almonds or coconut. Place the balls in candy cups (small size).
